Urban Energies and Rural Energies
The theme of this exhibition is “Urban Energies and Rural
Energies” Today, cities all over the world seem to have the
same look. Like our faces, cities originally have different
qualities. It is necessary for us to recover our human
nature. For instance, to regenerate the artificial city
“Water Front” a popular spot in Tokyo, they are trying to
bring in nature, which is the rural energies. It is
extremely important for rural energies and urban energies to
interact and harmonize in a deeper dimension. The garden
stones of Daitoku Temple Daisenin and Ryuan Temple are all
natural stones arranged in the gardens. Nonetheless, they
harmonize with the environment in a very deep dimension. The
urbal energies and the rural energies of these gardens are
interactive, and a harmony is realized by one of the
philosophies of the universe. Therefore, a work of a better
quality is created by harmonizing what seem to be simple
things, using only the necessary technologies to accomplish
a work. We wish for the projects of Renga (Linked Picture)
to be created in this way.
